International Trade Specialist

The Global Logistics Specialist will manage key functions of Import & Export Processes and support internal and external customer needs related to those processes. He/She will also create new Import/Export Policies & Procedures in additional to updating, training & auditing current Policies & Procedures. 

Duties include:
•Processes all aspects of arriving shipments from origin to destination (booking, review & submission of documentation for ISF's & Customs entries and delivery of freight) 
•Tracks and Schedules freight deliveries.
•Reviews Import Ocean & inland freight invoices and confirms cost matches against current freight quotes. 
•Identifies and implements initiatives to reduce costs in freight.
•Works directly with internal customers including Sales, Purchasing, Engineering, Product Managers, Accounting and Shipping & Receiving to complete daily tasks.
•Works with directly external customers including our Ardisam China office, suppliers, customer Freight Forwarders, Customs Brokers and customer Receiving Departments to complete daily tasks.
•Understands the clearance process, requirements for ISF filing, auditing and record-keeping.
•Manages Classification of Imported goods using the company ECN process according to principles of tariff classification (HTSUS, Customs rulings, Explanatory Notes)
•Assists with preparation & review of Export documents as well as NAFTA certificates of origin and other documentation.
•Develops and defines export processes including INCO terms based on customer's sales contracts or quotes.
•Assists with creating procedures, internal audits, training in compliance related areas (CTPAT Program)
•Works with internal & External Sales team to create procedures for onboarding new International customers. (Routing Guides, set up sheets, container builds, etc.. . .)
•Performs other duties and projects as assigned.

Job Requirements
•A minimum of 2 years' experience in International Transportation, International Logistics or Supply Chain Management Fields.
•Knowledge of INCO Terms, Customs entry processes & documentation requirements, Import/Export Regulations, HTSUS & Schedule B.
•Must possess the ability to handle difficult and demanding situations and multiple priorities.
•Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•The ability to Excel in a team-oriented environment.
•Experience in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel and Outlook. 

Preferred Skills
•International Trade & Compliance experience including education and training certificates. 
•MRP (Materials Requirements Planning) or ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) training in systems such as SAP or VISUAL.
•Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.

Reporting Relationship: This position reports directly to the Director of Import Compliance & Transportation
1st Shift, Monday-Friday
