The Associate Buyer will handle various tasks related to the inward movement of product, parts and raw materials into the corporation(s).
Core duties and responsibilities include the following, but are not limited to:
•Distribute purchase orders and purchase requisitions to vendors for ordering materials, goods and services
•Interact with foreign and domestic vendor base
•Utilize demand inputs, along with supply planning data to maintain an inventory and replenishment plan to support sales orders and lead time programs
•Track the status of any order
•Handle overages, short shipments and unqualified product from vendors
•Help analyze forecasts vs. purchase order distribution
•Ensure that any invoices received are sent to Accounts Payable for distribution of payment
•Produce and issue reports that are essential to inventory control
•Data entry and routine updating on costs of components/finished goods
•Help maintain filing systems
•Assist with International sourcing efforts
•Assure compliance to corporate policies and procedures
•Process changes to purchased components and assemblies as indicated through ECN’s (Engineering control notifications)
Knowledge and skills:
•In depth knowledge of accounting and mathematics with strong Excel skills
•Knowledge of MRP systems is a plus
•Excellent analytical skills – must be capable of collecting, assimilating and synthesizing planning data and converting into relevant business information
•Excellent problem solver along with strong communication skills to interact with individuals within the corporation, as well as vendor
•Self-motivated, detail oriented, follow instructions and be able to adapt as responsibilities can change quickly
•4yr Bachelor or 2yr Associate degree with 2yr experience in business or related field
•Purchasing experience is preferred
