Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing product development support for our Lawn & Garden brands – Earthquake, Fusion, Yardbird, and Tazz. The purpose of this position is to assist in the design, testing, documentation, and quality of new and existing products. These products would fall under the main category of lawn and garden.

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

A broad range of components and manufacturing processes will be utilized including injection molded plastic, sheet metal, machining, rubber molding, IC engines, power transmission, AC/DC motors, and sensors.
-Understand product requirements and develop solutions.
-Use theoretical calculations and analytical methods to develop and support mechanical concepts.
-Review or create part drawings, solid models and bills of material.
-Prototype and test designs.
-Provide technical problem solving.
-Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
-Meet project schedules.

 

Experience and Education:

-Must be accepted in an engineering department and not be on academic probation.
-Mechanical aptitude with hands on skills.
-Proficient with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and the general use of PC application.
-3D solid modeling experience -(SolidWorks preferred).
-Detail-oriented, deadline driven, self-directed and organized individual.
-Good written and verbal communication skills.
-Ability to excel in highly interactive team environment.
-A high level of initiative and self-confidence.
-Experience working with mechanical and electromechanical products.

 

Duration of Employment: January – August Term or June – December Term

 

Work Days: Monday – Friday

 

Hours / Day: 8

 

Work Shift: First Shift
