Job Summary:

This position is responsible for providing support in our growing hunting, camping categories and other soft goods product development.  The purpose of this position is to assist in the design, illustration and technical aspects of our hunting blinds, camping tents, etc.  Seeking a candidate who has a passion for creating high quality products in the outdoor sporting goods market.  Key focus of this position includes working closely with Technical Designers/ Senior Technical Designers and related team members to understand project scope, goals for new product development and customer or market needs.  High levels of effective communication with management and suppliers is a must.

Job Duties:

·        Create/illustrate technical drawings for hunting blinds, camping categories and other soft goods product development using Adobe Illustrator

·        Assist in creating/maintaining product standards, tech packs and Bill of Materials to production ready

·        Update and maintain fabric and trim library

·        Review Proto/R&D samples for accuracy, make corrections if needed and update documentation.  Ensure products are consistent with quality requirements.

·        Maintain daily communication with vendors, including charts, logs, etc. - providing direction to suppliers

·        Effectively communicate project status updates to management

·        Responsible for developing a quality product.  Assist quality team in root cause analysis and finding solutions

·        Assist the team in the creation of new products, curating the aesthetics and design initiatives

·        Manage and organize samples for photography, meetings and presentations as needed

·        Provide backup support for the Technical Designer

·        Keep informed about trends, technology, and competition

·        Potential travel to Overseas suppliers to assist in the development of new products, build relationships, support production, and meet shipping schedule when needed.




Qualifications and Skills:

·        Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Adobe Illustrator

·        Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint)

·        Detail oriented and strong time management and organization skills

·        Strong interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills

·        Knowledge of technical specification packet creation and technical writing

·        Understanding of sewn products quality:  fit, stitches, seams, textiles, construction, etc.

·        Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload from multiple projects

·        Hard work ethic and the ability to take on responsibility, adapt to change and be self-directed

·        Strong problem solving and creative thinking skills - curious and open-minded, positive, and collaborative, comfortable with critique



·        Bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design, Industrial Design, related field or associate degree with equivalent experience.

·        1-2 years product design and product development experience preferred

·        Experience and passion for the outdoors such as hunting, and camping is a plus

Compensation: Salaried Position

Duration of Employment: Full Time

Work Days: Monday - Friday

Hours / Day: 8

Work Shift: First Shift

Travel: 10% travel may be required including potential overseas travel

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
